Number porting (LNP — Local Number Portability) transfers your existing phone number from your current carrier to PC Madness VoIP. You keep the same number.
What Numbers Can Be Ported?
You can port: local geographic numbers (02, 03, 07, 08), mobile numbers (04xx), 1300 numbers, and 1800 numbers. International numbers and some special service numbers cannot be ported.
Starting the Port
In the VoIPCloud portal, go to Phone Numbers → Port a Number. Enter the number to port and your current provider's account details (usually the account number and service address as shown on your bill). Our porting team will submit the request.
Porting Timeframes
Standard geographic ports take 5–10 business days. Mobile ports take 2–5 business days. 1300/1800 ports are free and take 5–10 business days. Express porting may be available — contact our team.
During the Port
Your number continues to ring at your old provider until the port completes. You will receive an email confirmation with the scheduled port date. On the port date, the number switches over — you may experience a brief (minutes) outage during the cutover.
After Porting
Once ported, the number appears in your portal. Assign it to a Call Flow or DID route. Your old provider should automatically cancel the service — verify this on your next bill.
